C.L. Carters hold open house, barbecue for friends on fiftieth wedding anniversary
June 18 was one grand day, long to be remembered by Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Carter wwho celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with an open house.
During the hours between 1:00 o'clock p.m. and 9:00 o'clock p.m. they greeted two hundred friends, who called to shower them with all the best of wishes. Among those attending were nine guests who were at the wedding fifty years age, namely: Mrs. Maud Brown, who was a bridesmaid; Mrs. Daisy Hart, Mrs. Monroe Dillie, Mrs. Helen Warshum, Mrs. D.L. Selby, Mrs. George Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Chipman, Mr. and Mrs. Will Chipman. Four of their children with their families attended: Mr. Cecil Grow and family; Mr. and Mrs. Al Smith and family; Mr. Robert Carter and family; and Charles Carter. Twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren were in attendance.
Mr. Charles Borup, of Boise, tended the barbecue pit, filled with a pig, ham, turkey and beef. With meat so deliciously roasted, and the overloaded tables filled with the best of all good eating, was all that the guests could wish for. The large brides cake topped with the little bride and groom was lovely.
Mr. and Mrs. Carter have many lovely gifts from their host of friends, they will enjoy and cherish with memories of one wonderful day.
